Afia's Thoughts 30th June 2025:

Marcus Garvey powerfully said, "[w]ith confidence, you have won even before you have started."

I would add that sometimes, the most powerful thing you can do (as long as your physical and/or mental health won't be affected) is show up. (Of course, stepping back or stepping away can also be an extremely brave, heroic form of showing up for yourself. Only you know what's best.) Stepping away as a form of self-preservation is also winning.

Winning lies in showing up.

Winning often lives in having the strength and guts to stand up straight and face whatever 'Goliath' pesters your psyche and prods and pokes at your peace.

The 'win' is in showing up. The trophy of success is plated with the precious metal of showing up. Showing up eclipses everything.

You have shown up, so you have won. Your confidence, grit and determination will take it from there.
